Dayton Chamber Member of the Month

Our January 2023 Dayton Chamber of Commerce Member of the Month is Rhea Medical Health Care Foundation.

January 2023 Dayton Chamber Member of the Month is Rhea Health Care Foundation. The R.H.C.F.  has been around for 19+ years. The Foundation is a non-profit organization. Through fundraisers held throughout the year, they are able to provide medical equipment and other necessities to better our hospital. They host a breakfast each month that raises money for the Employee Benevolent Fund. The EBF, provides assistance to Rhea Medical Center employees who have experienced loss of income or essential resources due to critical illness, or serious circumstances (house fire, etc.). When Amanda Sneed, Foundation Director was asked what surprised you the most about the Rhea Health Care Foundation, she responded, “that many people do not know about the Rhea Medical Healthcare Foundation. I hope that being on Facebook and having our own website, people will be involved more and have a better understanding”. Amanda was also asked about the best thing about the foundation, her response to that question was, “being the Foundation Director for Rhea Medical Center would be, being a part of a great group of people that are making a positive impact in our community. Not only are we raising money to purchase equipment to better our hospital, but we are bringing the community together with our events. For example, Fall Family Fun Day had bounce houses, live music, face painting, balloon art, hay rides and pumpkin decorating, all free for the community to enjoy. You never see events like this that are completely free, but thanks to our sponsors, it is possible! As with many of our organizations, one of the hardest things is not having a venue to accommodate the amount of people who would/could attend these events. Amanda feels like many people do not know the Rhea Medical Healthcare Foundation is able to financially help the organization through fundraisers. Fundraisers this year included; The First Annual Paul Riggs Memorial Golf Tournament, Fall Family Fun Day, Rhea-diant, and Saturday Social. Thanks to the support of our sponsors and community, we were able to purchase four Stryker Arthroscopy lenses, which allows our orthopedic surgeon to diagnose injuries with greater accuracy, and a Transesophageal echocardiography probe (TEE). TEE is a diagnostic test that produces detailed pictures of your heart and arteries by using high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound).
